FAQ

Where does the data come from?Public building permit records published by city and county open-data portals. We don't scrape private sites. Every source and its license is listed on our data sources page.
Do I get the homeowner's name or phone?No. Permits list the property address, scope of work and sometimes the contractor. Most customers follow up with door hangers, postcards or the listed general contractor.
Why would I want a permit that another contractor already pulled?Because their job creates yours. A pool permit means a fence, landscaping and maybe a patio cover are coming. We match permits to the follow-on work for your trade.
I'm not local. Can I still use it?Yes. Pick any areas we cover, wherever your business is, and choose your own time zone for the morning email.
How fresh is it?Most feeds update daily and permits reach you a day or two after they're filed or issued. A few cities publish less often; the coverage page shows each area's newest permit.
